Mary Rose Ryan (nee: Beckmann)

Of Tampa, Florida. Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the age of 97. Mary Rose was born July 2, 1925 to Joseph and Emma Beckman in St. Louis, MO. She went to high school at Southwest High School in St. Louis, then furthered her education at St. John’s Mercy Nursing school where she became a registered nurse. She enjoyed being a nurse and taking care of people for several decades. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, FL. Mary Rose was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Tampa, FL for more than 55 years. She was a devout Catholic who enjoyed going to daily Mass while she could. She had special devotions to Eucharist Adoration, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Rosary. She was very involved at St. Lawrence Parish, in particular, she would bring Holy Communion to the sick in her parish and she would help with black bag collections to help the poor in the area. She enjoyed taking daily walks through the neighborhood and at the local parks.
She loved to play cards against her computer, but preferred to play with friends and family. One of her favorite games was "Oh Hell". She enjoyed many card parties up at St. Lawrence.

Mary Rose was the loving wife of the late Edward J Ryan for 41 years, whom she married September 12, 1953. She was a devoted mother of Rose (Ken) Benoist, Joseph(Cindi) Ryan, Robert (Kathy) Ryan, James Ryan and Edward J.(Blanche) Ryan III; cherished grandmother of Robert (Laurinda) Ryan, Edward (Dayna) Ryan IV, Jason Ryan & Erica (Aaron) Riley, Matthew (Brielle) Ryan, Danielle Ryan, Diana Ryan, Angela Benoist, Rebecca(Matt) Close, Peter Benoist, Tommy Benoist, Joseph "Joey" Ryan and Blaine Ryan; treasured great grandmother of 13; as well as a beloved aunt, cousin and friend to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Emma Beckmann; 7 brothers Martin (Mary)Beckmann, Albert (Dorothy)Beckmann Leo Beckmann, Reverend Father Rudy Beckmann, Richard (Adeline)Beckmann, Raymond (Jessie)& (Dottie)Beckmann and 2 sisters Magdalen (Walter)Monnig and Florence (Edward)Armstrong; two brothers-in-law infant, Robert Ryan and John (Joan)Ryan and one sister-in-law Alice (Frank)Lang.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 4-6pm at Boza and Roel Funeral Home, 4730 N Armenia Avenue, Tampa, FL. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 5225 N Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL 33614.

Service: Interment will be held in St. Louis on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10 am at Calvary Cemetery ( 5239 W Florissant Ave, St. Louis, MO 63115).
